The only way to brunch

May 5, 2018

Word on the street is that Golden Eagle Syrup is no longer just for breakfast ... except sometimes it is.

But BEWARE.

This isn't your grandmothers breakfast.

Here is a new spin on an old classic, lets see what

happens when you add your syrup to your batter!

Vanilla Cinnamon Pancakes

2 cups all purpose flour

3 TBSP Golden Eagle Syrup

1 ½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ ground cinnamon

2 cups buttermilk

1 ½ tsp vanilla

1 egg

¼ cup melted butter

Melt butter and set aside to cool. Combine all dry ingredients and mix with a whisk. Beat egg and add to dry ingredients along with other wet ingredients. Mix but don’t over mix or your pancakes wont rise. (If there are still small clumps that’s ok.) Heat griddle and rub with oil or butter. Pour batter on hot griddle until bubble start to form on top and then flip to other side. Remove from griddle when golden brown on both sides and top with butter and Golden Eagle Syrup.

And it just wouldn't be brunch without this new favorite.

Chicken & Waffles

Golden Fried Chicken

2 lbs Chicken Tenders

¼ cup Golden Eagle Syrup

2 eggs

2 cups all purpose flour

½ cup saltine crackers

1//2 cup corn flakes

1-2 liters  vegetable oil

Heat oil in a cast iron skillet until it reaches 350 degrees. Beat eggs with GE syrup in a bowl that you can dredge the chicken in. In a gallon bag mix flour, crackers, and corn flakes. Roll with a rolling pin until crackers and flakes are small enough to stick to chicken. Dredge 4-5 pieces of chicken in the egg mixture and drop in bag with flour and coat all sides really well. Through the outside of the bag squeeze each piece of chicken to make sure breading sticks to chicken. Do this until all pieces of chicken are coated. Drop 6-7 pieces of chicken into oil until golden brown and drain on paper towels.

Buttermilk Waffles

2 large eggs

1 ¾ cups buttermilk

½ cup melted butter

2 tsp vanilla

2 cups all purpose flour

2 TBSP Golden Eagle Syrup

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

In a mixing bowl beat together eggs, buttermilk, butter, syrup and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix together dry ingredients. Pour dry mixture into wet mixture and stir until almost smooth. Spray your waffle iron with non-stick spray. Pour about 1/3 cup batter into waffle iron and cook according to manufactures direction.
